I think this is the most obscure riddle I’ve written
There are a few special words that I have sent in

1+1 equals two
except when the answer 1 is true

Easy sidetrack question answer it true
So let’s get back to the abstract riddles we do

Not sure how many people got a chance to read my question

Daytripper got the hemisphere question correct and is going in the right direction

It is indeed a question based on Antarctica that’s agreed

I’m going to give a another clue
Look to Scott for an answer true

This is an unfair riddle in I should not have basked
It’s more of A history question I have asked
So I’m outright going to give for the third time the name Scott
Somebody already aluded this is the north pole not

Goodnight my friendly HBT riddling crew
But before I go there is something I should do
My riddle is not based on logic or between the lines stuff
Its pretty much history about Antarctica and those explorers in the rough
I really doubt it’s a fair riddle unless you’ve been to Ross Island
To answer the riddle you need to answer and buy in
Where the hell is Ross Island?

And why do I keep giving you clues about Scott and a frozen dog?
Two key clues to bring you out of the fog

Ok if somebody researches and figures this riddle out
Do not blurt the answer without a riddle rhyme shout

Then let me hear rhyme for a dog fallen before his time
It’s for my dog Dash I ask you to rhyme
And for the explorers who are long gone before us
Searching an ice world that these days would floor us

Why spend so much of my time with these silly riddles?
Could be these guys will fill in the middle
Or something like that.
I’ve always loved Styx songs
Was going to post one but will go back to the ‘This Time at Night’ thread

Cheers
Dan

Ok
I guess nobody reads and answers this thread any longer
Maybe tired of my rhyming falter
I can surely only give one other clue
Down on the ice we really all knew

It concerns a man born in 1868 and by 1912 had met his frozen fate

When I was a young pup sailor.
Ships were made of wood and men were not tailors

We were tough
and rough
We knew well our stuff

We’d sail along the Barbary coast
Easy sailing we’d often boast

But…but..

But what to my wondering eyes did appear?
A cruise to the bottom of the world that was clear

So my old ship captain did give a shout
A story you’ve heard of but not quite the same bout
The names I give you have have not all been changed
After all this is just an amusement game

So Mr Scott whistled for a hearty crew, he shouted to men that he already knew

One by one he called us by name
You boys listen we have a new game!
And the captain called us again by our names!
"On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen
On Comet, on Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall we’re heading towards the South Pole come one and come all
Now, dash away, dash away, dash away all let’s head to the south it’s an honored call

So down to the south we all rallied in
Two thousand miles a journey my friend
Man the south was cold
I never thought I’d be so bold
But we did it went to Ross island
Built a home and one that I died in

I ask you some questions.
What could my quest be in

You tell me after all the sidetracks, but clues too.
Think you can answer the questions true?

Cheers!
Dan an OAE

For your Dash
These words I will hash
The clues seems tough
For me at least, a bit rough
Where did Scott perish?
Not in a place I cherish
One Ton Depot I surmise
Is the place of Scott's demise.

Not in a place I cherish

One Ton Depot?
Now whose riddling who?
I will give another clue between me and you

(When and where)
When I was there the sky was bright
In fact the sun did not set at night

The answer is not the South Pole but north of it you gotta know
Then again when you’re at the bottom of the world
And standing on the earth’s spindle any direction is north I do kindle (it rhymed)
But a little north you really must go
Over the ice and beautiful snow
And there you will find a shelf that is known,
named the same name and star of a friends show

This riddle has gone very long
In fact I had to reread the words of my song

If I need to than so maybe you do

I’ve put forth some questions and great suggestions

By now we have figured out
It’s near the bottom of the world this riddles about

Reposting the vague riddle I’m asking about.
Unless you’re an OAE, like me you might have some doubt

There was a little window I could see out
And what I saw without a shadow of doubt
An emperor penguin standing royal and stout!

But I walked out of this old wooden hut And was surrounded by white crystalline fog
A short distance away I saw a tied up dead dog

I looked above to the bright bright blue sky
A view made only by God and one you can’t buy

The sun above didn’t go east to west
But around in a circle and never sets

To help with the answer you might ask Scott
I tell you the truth a distraction that’s not

To the riddle there’s four questions to answer
So says my little fallen dog Dasher

Where?
It’s a land that isn’t always nice
A warm day just starts to melt ice

When?
Why does the sun not set but circle around. Does this have a familiar sound?

Specifically Where?
What’s with this dead dog, wood structure and cold fog?
give you a clue tHat could go utterly wrong

Who?
There are fewer and fewer OAEs
I am truly one oh don’t you see

Cheers!
Dan

South Pole where dead dogs are a good source of vit. C without which it gets dark at the bottom of the world even in sun-stained daylight. A haunting scape full of whale screams slaughtered by Norse orcs for fun and blood money. Now melting beyond control as another crime against humanity unfolds, robbing my children for this fake day.

Thank you, Dan
Your clue did the trick
For that I am a fan
Until now I was up a crick
The place you mean I say to my self
Must be the Ross Ice Shelf

Congratulations BeermanPete!
Your answer to one of the question is quite neat
And correct! No way I’d object

Yes!
It’s on the Ross Ice shelf!
There are a few more questions to answer about
This is not an easy riddle I’ve asked
But once it got rolling it’s in a riddle I’ve basked

To help with the rest of the answers you can not ask Dasher
However Scott will make your voice true
Again that name came up, a clue from me to you

Now is the time
To try my rhyme
To the pole the race
Antarctica is the place
Winter is the time of year
The weather then we fear
To the south pole they went
On the return they were spent
Thier hunger they could not quell
Ross Ice Shelf is where they fell
Scott, Oates, Wilson, Bowers, and Evans
Surrendered to the heavens

Believe me I want this riddle ended for sure

But before that
I’m tipping my hat
In respect to each of you for your resounding riddle answer facts

I’m going to give all four answers in a moment for sure.
Some answers given were correct and quite clear.
Im celebrating in that and drinking a beer to those answers so many quite clear
And do tip my hat

I need to go back to my original questions.
Most have been answered but I give myself the suggestion
You forget your original clues Dan
Lol those words are from my brother Stan

Give me a little time
To Each one of you who answered part of the rhyme. We are not quite there so give me some time

BeermanPete
Please do know. Most all of the answers you my man, showed

With a very utmost respect for anybody who tried to answer my riddle questions
My fallen Dog Dasher and I do give you our blessings!

I’m afraid your answer is not quite right.
Consult with BeermanPete
Then your answer will be changed. Answers so neat.

This I give as a riddle and history lesson
To me it’s a very good blessing
(That last bit NOT a clue). Ramblings

BeermanPete answers are singing my ridding song
Almost all of them I’m sure

And if he doesn’t then who will
That’s another question to fill

I’m not sure

It’s to damn crazy I’m asking about
Please know for sure
