as some of you know i am doing my first brew today and i have been reading this forum like all day lol but i have noticed alot of people talking about blow offs. I dont have onefor my primary all i have is the regular 6.5 gal bucket with an air lock. with brewing a belgian tripel should i be worried about blow offs?

all depends on headspace in the fermentor, if you're using a bucket, probably wont happen, in a carboy/better bottle, decent chance. I just had my first blowoff on my third batch, rigging up a tube is pretty easy, I just took apart my 3 piece airlock and fitted some 5/8 inch tubing to the stem piece, dropped the other end in a bowl of water/iodophor.
