Removing Pin lock posts

The pin lock posts don't have a nut that I could use a wrench on. Does anyone know how I can take them apart for cleaning?

The look like this - FIRESTONE PIN LOCK GAS PLUG @ Williams Brewing

i just use a crescent wrench on em

There's a special socket you can buy that will fit over the pins, but you can also take a .... (OK I forget the size, 7/8th, I think?) and dremel out some slots so it slips over the pins instead.

They do have hex flats on them for a wrench. You have to tilt the wrench to avoid the pins, but it's doable.

the size is 13/16ths but I use a crescent wrench on mine. I am going to modify a 6 point socket with my trust dremal soon.

Here are two modified sockets I made from cheap deep wells I got from Autozone for $7 for both...

A little work with a Dremel is all it took... Work like a charm...

I got a pair of vice grips on mine just fine.
