We are heading down early Friday. Ended up staying next door rather than the host hotel. Signed up for the Plano pub crawl. I entered a "Fruit Beer" and quite a few others from the local group entered others as well. Hope to see a good turn out. Cheers! :mug:

Never been before so I can't speak to what the best choice was to make. I assumed it would be a good time nonetheless. Depending on the outlook of the evening, I may stay at the hotel anyway :D

anyone know when they're going to post the winners? I had entries, but didnt make it to the actual event. The "2011 winners" page says "results will be posted March 27th" ?

They post most of the winners on there twitter feed BB_brewoff. Not sure y the website hasn't been updated I placed 2nd I'm the light lager cat I'm awesome lol.

Ok, this will probably be a very stupid question, but...WTH is Bluebonnet?

Bluebonnet is a huge home brew competition. It is a two day event of lots of great craft brew as well as home brew. There were over 1700 entries this year and I believe over 900 people in attendance. I was told that it is "the largest home brew competition in the world" [Jeremy Clarkson]

This was my first time and it was a blast. I probably tried over 200 different brews. I hit every commercial booth and every home brew booth there. I didn't try every beer in every booth but I gave it the old college try. If your in the south or in the general area, it is well worth the trip. Even if your far away it is a stones throw from the airport. Literally..... Check it out! :ban:

Not sure on winners. If you have twitter they supposedly posted them real time. If you IM me I can take a look on the feed. Cheers!

Thanks DeBrewer. I was googling my a$$ off, and couldn't find anything about homebrewing. Maybe in the future I'll give it a try..:mug:

Here you go. This is in the reverse order of the awards.... Remember that this is just every tweet from beginning to end so there will be some random comments. Cheers!

dude. Thats me. Holy crap, I cant believe this!! :ban::rockin:

I only have a BS in Math but I think at 6750 entries (plus Canada), the NHC is a touch bigger.

Congrats! When they called it out I was highly surprised that the best of show winner wasn't there...

I have no idea what their method was for determining their size but I assumed it was something like the auto industry where even the worst car is #1 for something.

Congrats! :mug: Sorry you weren't able to attend.

There were 1770+ entries, by final count, from what I was told. This is why it is state as "The Bluebonnet Brew-off is one of the largest single site homebrew competitions in the United States." Yes, nationals is larger, it is also handled in multiple regions for the first round.

The list of winners is finally up on the site, as well.

Hell of a good time this year. Can't wait til next!

I wish I had been there but I didn't think I had a chance but came in second light lager would have loved to have heard my name called out ! Always next year !

this makes me miss Texas more <sad face>

but i have beer here in GA now, and summers that rarely see consecutive 100 degree days.
