My local brew shop told me
10-14 days in primary at 55
then drop 2 deg/day until you get to 36 or 38 and then hold 7 days.
Then bottle and leave at room temp 2 weeks to carbonate.

Does that sound about right? That's about 26 days of fermenting

You'll need a Dyacital rest before you start bringing it down to lagering temps. Depending on the gravity, it could take less time in the primary. I'd give 1-3 days at room temp for the D-rest and then rack to 2ndary and drop it into the 30's for a month.

So secondary for lagering can be done at 34F. If this is true then I don't need a temperature controller for my fridge and my first batch of lager has a chance of working. Woohoo!
