i got a turkey fryer (backyard classic) and it was hooked up to some stupid timer and thermocouple with a tee, so i bypassed those and was unable to find a coupler to fit the end of the gas hose they gave me that would mate it with the end of the burner arm (i just found a cap for the open part of the tee and used that). do propane hoses have special fitting threads on them?

anyway, my real question is the instructions that came with the fryer say to not screw in the gas supply all the way, to leave 3 threads showing. does anyone know why this is and if i should even follow those instructions? seems like all the other ones i've seen on the site here are screwed all the way in.

thanks.
