Hi everyone,

This is my first batch of Kombucha.. can someone tell me if the 'stuff' on the inside of the jar above the water line is normal?

I didn't sterilize the jar in boiling water but I washed the jar thoroughly to ensure it was absolutely clean.

I used white sugar and white tea, the Kombucha has been brewing for about 5 days.

*The last two pics describe what I'm talking about*

Thanks very much.

B.

P.s. Sorry about the double post

Looks fine to me that is some of the yeast sticking to the side of the container, i have seen that many many times in brewing beer and i have the same thing happening in my first batch of kombucha, i just swirl the jar a bit to get it back in the liquid.

Super! I'm glad to hear it. I would've disappointed if I had to throw it and start again... having said that, I would've been more disappointed if it had been something nasty and I ended up with a nasty case of the sh**s

Thanks very much for the reply (and the reassurance!)
