I am starting to put together my electric brewery, here's a question:

Are there any problems with mounting the drain port as coming out of the bottom? I see so few systems doing this, and yet it seems like a good way to virtually eliminate dead space?

Thanks

There's no problem with it as far as I know. I don't think you see it that often because many folks convert their existing propane kettles into electric kettles, so the ports are already on the side to begin with.

Thought about a bottom drain, limits the placement of the kettle to where it can sit. A properly installed dip tube will drain the kettle within a cup or less of empty so I went with that.
