going to be out in vegas soon & need to know where to go? i heard about a place called the freakin frog, i think that was it? anywhere else i should check out? something near the strip?

Freakin Frog is great. Lots of craft and Belgians.

There is a place called Big Dogs Brewing Company in North Vegas, not really that close to the strip but good food and decent beer.

There aren't a lot of places with good beer on the strip but The Pub at Monte Carlo is probably one of the better ones. They're have all the more common craft beers (Stone, Rogue, Dogfishhead ect.)

There is also Sin City Brewing Company, which isn't the best beer in the world but better than most of your other options in Vegas. They have places in a few of the casinos. Venician, Flamingo, and Planet Hollywood I think.

I love McMullins next to The Orleans. It's a great authentic Irish pub with great Irish beer on tap and descent food and not nearly as busy as places on the strip. I live in Vegas and if you were visiting me this is where I would take you. My best friend who was born and raised in manhattan still says it's one of his favorite Irish bars outside of Ireland.

The Burger Bar and Mandalay Bay has a beer menu that's organized by country/region. It's something like 20 pages. The burgers are amazing as well...
