I ordered some ingredients and bottles a few days ago, and while my credit card has been charged, I received nothing in the way of a confirmation email, or even an email from when I registered with the place. Is this common?

Yes that is how we do things currently. There is no need to worry about your order going through. If you can see it in your order history then it has been received.

You can also check the status of your order in your order history.
