great looking bar! I would think that a beer engine is mandatory for an Irish bar :D

Oh for sure :drunk:

Me and my mates cant wait to get the kegerator finished and
the pool table in will be having the mother of all parties
when its 100% .

Hopefully not too much longer now :ban:

Very nice! What kind of wood?

The bar is mahogany and the door is red deal

I was going to get my cabinet maker to make it up
for me but money is tight right now and decided
Id like to do it myself , cos I done everything
in the bar myself up to this point .

theres a few scratches on the bartop so
I might just varnish it with the same varnish
used on the door its an old bar maybe
13 years old .

was In storage for a long time Im ressurecting it

Looks really nice, I hope your enjoy it as much as I would. :mug:

thanks mate :mug:

cheers buddy :tank:

I havent really looked into homebrewing untill I saw that
you can homebrew coopers pale ale its the nicest drink
Ive ever had and was my usual when I traveled australia
so might invest i9n my first homebrew kit :rockin:

theyre cheap enough like 80 euros or something

OMG

I'm getting the biggest bargain Ive ever gotten

2 taps/cooler/lines/ gas regulator / couplers / barstools
bottle opener and a cleaning drum for the lines

150 euros

thats easily 700 or 800 worth of equipment

:mug: happy days :mug:

Ive changed my mind about the kegerator and am going with
a standard cooler you get in the pubs .

and made some cosmetic changes to my bar am going to
mount my taps on the bartop like a real bar .

I decided to go that way since I saw another homebar
not too far from where I live .

that bar was completley homemade :)

since Im not homebrewing this setup suits my needs fine

might homebrew in the future for now just want to get
beer in my bar and the party started :rockin:

I cant wait untill tomorrow :D

Very nice work on your bar....it looks great. Good luck with the rest of your set up. I should be finishing up my bar over the next few weeks....just need to put in the drop ceiling. Check out my thread when you get a chance. Cheers! :mug:

the pic on this page isnt my bar but someone elses homebar
mines not that far along yet but getting there :mug:

Yeah, I seen the pic. of your's earlier in your post....still really, really nice. I just uploaded a couple of pics. of my basement on my thread with my keezer that I built in place where it's sit. Basement bar is still a work in progress, but hopefully soon it will be complete!

:)

updates

I added 2 mirrors behind the bar
built a wall mount for the tv
built a frame for the painting over the fireplace
I put the frame on hinges and theres a space
behind the painting for a safe eventually
installed my taps :cross:
made the small room outside the back door into a smoking area
got myself a cooler for the kegs
put up 1 optics

starting to come together now but still needs a lot of attention
I need to put some shelves somewhere for my pint glasses
not too sure about how Im going to work around that
I also have to put a piece of timber along the back of the
long bar to protect my electrical equipment in case someone
spills a drink on the counter (god forbid)
have to paint the walls and take up the carpet to reveal
the nice timber floor underneath that just needs a little work
the smoking room needs another lick of paint I had it all
orange but when you came out after a few minutes
you were dazed cos it was too bright so painted the front
facing wall white and that solved that

It feels to me like behind the bar is missing something
does anybody have any suggestions about the wall behind
the bar it looks kind of bare :(

but I dont want to hang a load of crap on it cos then it will look cluttered

Update:

built some new shelves for the bar instead of
using an Architrave around the ceiling
inside the bar Ive used some 4x2
nailed straight onto the wall
and shelves screwed to
the bottom of them.

also built a wine glass rack thats hangs over my taps

and got a 6 bottle wall mounted rotary optics
and a commercial corkscrew.

Bar Is really looking the part now

Will upload some pics later

That looks awesome! I've been thinking about doing a bar similar to yours when I re-do my garage later this year. Great work!

Up The Kingdom!!!

Looks great! I think that's a difficult situation behind the bar because of the placement of those lights. Seems like it would be kind of hard to work around them without making it feel cluttered. Very wide and short bar/alcohol related mirrors might work there, or something like sports banners or those football scarves you guys have over there, maybe even drapes up there... Anyways, just throwin some things out there, take it or leave it.

Anyways, keep on posting; your bar's pretty sweet!

I guess I could remove the lightsto do something there !
was thinking of covering that wall with timber like red deal or something !
I have a couple of mirrors put on the wall now :)

I bought a bunch of beermats off of ebay and hung them from the shelves
and I used the overhead of the bar as a shelf its tiled and grouted aswell

Ive a 6 bottle wall optics there I was looking for one just like
that for a long time found it on ebay :)

Am thinking of getting a cheap cash register just to put a finishing touch
to behind the bar and make it look authentic :)

was thinking of hanging some packets of nuts and pork scratchings
on the cards you see in the pubs here and in the uk and maybe
a box or 2 of tayto crisps for the Irish touch.

I hung a rotating boxlight with drinks brand names on it
which looks very nice with the lights down

I also put a hidden safe behind the picture on my fake fireplace
and If anybodys thinking of robbing it forget about it cos its empty :D
I just wanted to add some hollywood style to it lol

I have empty bottles with candles strewn about the place which
are very nice with the lights down too and the bottles look
really good when they are covered in wax mine arent there
yet but Im getting there , the idea was taken from a local pub where I live :D

and Ive finished my smoking room outside
