So my buddy and I are making our mash tun out of a 45 quart Rubbermaid rectangular cooler, since we could not find a 10 gallon cylinder cooler. We are following the instructions listed here and we have two questions,

1) does anyone know if the spigot is the same size on our rectangular cooler as the 10 gallon cylinder cooler?

2) This cooler does not have a nut to unfasten the spigot, should we just rip it out?

:ban:

Thanks for any help if anyone has experience with this type of cooler

1. Don't know

2. Whatever you do, don't rip it out. It may not have a nut, but I'm sure that it can be unscrewed in some way. Once you have it unscrewed, you can take it to the hardware store and find the answer to question 1.

On mine the hole was larger on the cooler. What I ended up doing is grabbing a handful more 'O-rings' to help alleviate the gap inbetween the tubing/rubber o-ring in the cooler.

Thus far it works nicely for me :)

Good luck!
