I have an IPA in primary and it's been almost 2 weeks. I took a sample today for a gravity reading and it tasted strong like fusels. Is it just cause it's young and still in primary? OG 1.063, gravity today, 1.012. It fermented at 66-70 degrees.

It is still young, a lot of that should go away (especially if you keep it at the low end of your temp range)

It is true that time and yeast enzymes can convert fusels into less aggressive esters, though you should try to avoid them all together with proper pitching rates and fermentation temps.

Reason I'm asking is because my last brew fermented to hot cause I was out of town. I lived in FL. Now it has a fusel taste which is from the high temps. This beer has the same taste characteristics but fermented at the proper temp.
