Anyone using an affordable PH meter fixed to their mash tun? Only solutions I'm finding are fancy and priced to match

I would think having a fixed/installed pH meter would wear the probe out very quickly.

You would have to affix it at the end of some kind of fancy heat exchanger to get the sample temp down....

Define affordable:confused:

I do a low temp mash-in (100° F) to adjust mash pH, enzyme prep. and remove the the probe during mashing to prevent premature probe failure.

My mash tun pH probe, actual brew day.

I also have a floating pH probe in cold water.

That doesn't look affordable.

But I like it.

I use a handheld ATC pH meter. It works well. I do a two point calibration, then I measure/adjust the mash water prior to mash in, then once 30 minutes in. That routine works well for me. I always get a good conversion.
