I am considering getting a Rouge kit from AHS and use their pacman yeast. Consider all the tales on this site about using blowoff tubes, I have been thinking how I can set that up for myself. I have a 6 gallon plastic fermenter with a 1" drilled hold in the lid. How can I install a 1" blowoff tube with that? It seems I would have to enlarge that hole, but maybe others have come up with a different way. Thanks for any input.

Another possibility with a 1" hole is to use one of those universal carboy stoppers and whatever size hose fits over the top of that.

I really like those stoppers: I find they stay put in carboys better than the rubber stoppers. I'm thinking of drilling a larger hole in my bucket lid so that I can use those stoppers in there as well.
