Just remember that chest freezers dissipate their heat through the sides. I'd leave an air gap between the freezer wall and any skin.

Leaving an air gap without any sort of planned circulation for air (i.e. fans to move the air in the gap between the freezer and wains-cot) will actually give a greater R-value than if the wains-cot was directly applied to the freezer.

My apologies for miss spelling/pronouncing the word. I thought I read somewhere if a gap was left it would act as an insulator keep the heat in? Has anyone tried this? It would be super easy and look good.
