I'll just lay out what mistakes I made during my partial mash and let me know if it's going to throw my beer way off.
I brought my water up to 158ºF and put my grains into them and then set it in the oven set at 155º for 45 minutes. Only at the end when I went to sparge did I realize I had only half the water I needed in there. I cooled my sparge water with tap water to cut the temp back. I poured the water into the grains (topping off with the other half needed) and put them back into the oven for a little longer. I then reheated my sparge water to 170ºF, sparged and then proceeded as normal.
If my temperatures were good, will the lack of water and then the late addition throw things off?
