New member here from LI, NY. Just started my first brew last night. Decided to keep it simple and do an extract brew. Also, I figured I'd only use one type of hop so I can learn it's characteristics.

I'm all about hoppy beers so I tried an IPA. We'll see how it turns out! So far, not much activity in the first 10 hours, but hopefully it kicks it up soon! I've read the posts saying that my airlock isnt a direct indication of fermentation, but right now it's all this noob has to go on.

Thanks everyone for your tips! Now to figure out what my next brew is going to be.. probably another IPA.. maybe double?
