Day I am making a 5lt yeast starter and will add 500gm of dme, do I take that out of my recipe or still add same as recipe says? Thanks

I make my starters from dme separate from the recipe. I usually decant the liquid from any starters larger than .75L.
I do not alter the recipe or kit.
If it is a small starter not decanted the addition is not enough to be significant. If it is a decanted starter there is no starter "beer" to change the recipe.
