Hey everyone, I'm going to be making a American Pale Ale this weekend and wanted to get some feedback on the hop schedule. I'm looking to make something that will have a nice hop flavor, decent malt background and will be very drinkable.

Here's what I've got:
Batch size: 5.25 Gallon
  • 5 lb 2 row
  • 4.75 lb Maris Otter
  • 1 lb Caravienne

  • 0.5 oz Horizon - 60 minutes
  • 1 oz Cascade - 10 minutes
  • .5 oz Horizon - 10 minutes
  • 1 oz Amarillo - 10 minutes
  • 1 oz Amarillo - flame out
  • 1 oz Cascade - Dry Hop
Wyeast Greenbelt - similar to 1056

I'm leaning towards going heavy on the 10 minute additions because I've read about some people having success with nice hoppy flavor, but not overly bitter results this way.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Has anyone had experience with late additions of Horizon hops?

Thanks,
David
