+1, DGB (Daniels) is a great book. I use it as a reference often. Hopefully he will expand in the future to cover more beer styles.

Also, BeerSmith software is a very useful design tool. It does a huge number of tedious calculations for you. I especially like the fact that you can "visualize" your recipe changes with their well designed graphs.

I've used these two resources together a lot this past brewing season.
