So I bought UK Fuggles and received US...

Are they that much different? All I've been able to find online is the US Fuggles have less aroma, but still similar.

Woody, fruity, spicy? less more?

thoughts /experience appreciated!

I use US Fuggles in almost every English style beer I make, and I make a lot. There is no appreciable difference. If you taste the two next to each other, some people (i.e. BJCP judges) can detect the differences, but most people can't.

Now, if you paid more for the English and you got the cheaper US, then I would contact the retailer and ask for a refund. That's the biggest difference I know.

+1 to chase.

To my palate, there is very little perceptible difference between US and UK Fuggles - they are both characteristically earthy with a mellow spiciness.

Local growing conditions will influence the flavor/aroma/bittering characteristics of hop varietals, but not nearly to the same extent as grapes.
