Just picked up some of this today and it smells like straight up garlic and spices. I read it was supposed to give a passion fruit flavor. How much will the spicy garlic flavor come across in the finished beer?

If you can pick up a four pack of "shift" from new belgium....apparently this beer is single hopped with NS. This is the only beer I like from NB, and I love the hop flavor the NS imparts....no hint of garlic...

Don't judge a hop without rubbing the cones or pellets between your fingers first. The smell of bulk frozen hop pellets is misleading.

Nelson resembles tannic grape skin to me. It's delicious.

Never had any garlic like flavors come through from this hop. New belgium's spring seasonal Dig (APA) uses this hop as well and it is delicious. Also Widmer's Drifter (APA) and Anchor's Humming ale (Brown). It is a pretty versatile hop.
