thinking of building a sauna...

El Hubbo and I were discussing hiw we'd enjoy a nice swedish sauna here at our little cabin in the forest.

Anyone done this and have some advice? Kit or from scratch? Redwood or native materials? Dos and don'ts?

I grew up taking saunas every weekend at my grandparents. There is nothing quite like it. I cant believe I havent built one yet. I think cedar is the only way to go. Grandpa had a homemade woodstove that held a bunch of fieldstones over the firebox and made great steam. Also a showerhead with only cold water my favorite part...talk about refreshing.

BTW, Us Finns say "sow-na" up north here. Thats gotta be right the Finns invented the thing.
