I have the 1/2 inch tube though guess you can call me a collector.
I use 50 ft 1/2 ID copper for my immersion, and I can chill 11 gal from boil to pitch temp in under ten minutes year round. Then again, my tap water is never above 50 deg F.
5.5 gal takes only slightly less time since some of the chiller is above the Wort.

I use a 1/2" copper chiller that I made myself. I had the tubing in the garage. If you buy the tubing it will cost some coin. I extract brew. I use it in the brewpot after the boil. It cuts a lot of time out of the brew day.
42 feet of 1/4 copper gets 5.5 gal from 212+ down to 68 in less than 6 minutes
