Beersmith cider question

You could just figure on the cider being 8.3 pounds per gallon and do the math yourself. I don't think you can change beersmith to do it.
Use lbs. Add the applejuice as a new grain, and make it's Specific Gravity 1.042 and SRM of 3.
The SG of any malt is simply the expected SG of 1 lb. of that malt in 1 gallon of wort. If you are adding a liquid, choosing lbs is the same as gallons.

it doesn't really work out IMHO I now use the spreadsheet form Hitest's sticky it makes a big diff.
Works fine if you increase the attenuation of the yeast to 100%. I should have mentioned that.

sorry i was away for a while, it is here in the mead forum if u go down the page a little there is the mead calculator spreadsheet. it works great and i now use it for my cider and wines, i use beersmith just to keep the dates. i just add the correct info to the notes section.

indludes a fruit section that has apples and if you load at 8lbs per gallon the gravity is correct...tested it against an apple juice sample.
