Since I live in an apartment, I don't really have the patience to control fermentation temperature except for one batch a year. I'm planning on doing my last batch until fall this weekend and was wondering if you had any suggestions on what to brew. Or advice to steer me in one direction versus another, since I've never tried any of these before.

I've been toying with the idea of making a big beer for Christmas.

My top three options right now are:
1. Dubbel + one of the sugars I heard about on Basic Brewing Radio recently
2. Imperial Stout + secondary fermentation of sour cherries added during cherry season
3. Sour brown ale

Thanks!

I don't have a recommendation on this brew, but you could get one more in during the heat of summer. Brew a saison. They like the heat. :)

You'd love to do a Oktoberfest ale :)
You can also do something quick, like a heffe, during the summer with just a little bit of effort ( a cooler with water ). Heck, your in Madison, not Atlanta.
