Hey guys! I brewed a belgian whit this afternoon and came home to find the beer spewing out of the airlock. There is foam.everywhere! Im assuming this isnt a bad thing, but wanted to check. Is this normal?

If you are using a Belgian yeast strain it is definitely normal, they are notorious for having vigorous fermentations in the beginning (at least IME).

If you don't have fermentation control then it could indicate that your fermentation temperature is too high.

Good luck

Cheers!

Control the temperature to the low end of the range recommended for the yeast. Search swamp cooler.

To keep from having to clean krausen off your ceiling install a blow off tube ASAP.

You have a very healthy fermentation going.
