Is that even close?

I plan to pick up honey this weekend and start a mead (first one) to have ready in 7 months when my newest is born.

Hmmm, well I feel kinda dumb. So since Im new to using beersmith, has everyone left the SG of honey thats in there alone. I only ask because with the trappist braggot im planning Im not sure how to take an original gravity or adjusted readings since im doing two honey additions at different times.

I don't use beersmith.

you could use beertools.com free version online though.

or just do the math. 1 lb of honey should be 1.035 per gallon of water. 1lb in 5 gallons should be 1.007 increase in gravity.
