Hi all!

First thanks for all the great help thus far!

Second I've fermed about 9 batches now (between 4.5 and 9L each). I'm back sweatening to make sparkling cider and TBH it's worked out really well! Tastes great and experiements with different sweeteners (different syrups and types of sugar).

My question is, thus far I've typically fermed out to 1000 for 20-30 days, moved to new demijohn, left for 3-4 days, then added sugar and bottled. Then consumed after 20 days.

Should i leave longer before bottling after 1st ferm? Should I leave bottled before drinking?

I'm adding 1 teaspoon sugar for every 1 pint.

Cheers!

Iz

It can be done that fast, or much slower. Craft ciders are pressed in the fall, allowed to ferment over the winter, and they go into an MLF ferment in the spring, and they get around to bottling it in the summer and drink it next fall. It is kind of the same calendar as grape wines.
