So I'm wondering how often your motors are coming on. I have a elec. temp. controller installed and set to 40 as max. But it seems like it takes almost a hour to lower that temp to 35 and it seems to only be about an hour again before it hits 40. Im afraid I might get motor burnout with 1 on 1 off not to mention a nice elec bill. What are you guys setting your temp to and what differential are you setting and how often is your motor coming on. Should I be worried or just ignore it or could it be something else?

An hour runtime shouldn't be a concern.

As for energy usage, the bigger the differential, the less energy used, but not a huge difference. Your overall usage will mainly depend on three things:

1. Efficiency of motor/compressor unit
2. Insulation value of the frige/freezer
3. Surrounding temperature.
