The recipe im going to be brewing next calls for around 9 ounces of citra hop pellets. My local homebrew store only carries whole leaf citra hops.. Ive never used whole leaf yet and im just needing to know if I need to get more or less whole leaf hops than the 9 ounces of the pellet that the recipe calls for?

X amount of pellet hops will bitter a tad more than an equal amount leaf hops.

That said, I would never waste Citra before 15 minutes left in the boil. I make a lot of IPAs, so I prefer pellets. They release more of their oils when used at whirlpool + dryhop.

I would recommend using another American hop for the 60-20 minute additions such as Columbus, Chinook, or Warrior.
Citra is just too precious to be wasted on early additions.
