hi,
Can anyone recommend a good Belgian trippel (extract) kit?
I know of the Northern Brewer kit, any better ones?
thanks in advance

Just reporting progress on the tripel, bottled it a few days ago,
tasted great, so I am looking forward to the fizzy version.

I used the extract version of "Triple
the light fantastic" from the BYO magazine web site,
http://byo.com/recipe/1447.html , substituting White Labs 530 Abbey Ale Yeast
(and using a yeast starter, see http://www.hbd.org/uchima/yeaststart/yeaststart.html ).

The batch was very sulfurous after 18 hours, but that went away by the next day.
Starting gravity was 1.075 and bottled at 1.017.

Try the Brewer's Best Belgian Tripel Kit. I have brewed this one multiple times and it is alwas a favorite of mine and all my taste friends. The first run was started at low temp (60 degrees) and was pretty good. I have found that 70-72 works best for both primary and secondary fermentation. I at about 9.5% and a great flavor.

My next batch I pushing to transfer this into a quad. Same flavor punch but a little more body and alcohol content.

Williams Brewing makes an excellent Tripel kit. Better than many of the commercial tripels I've had. Seriously.
