This probably has been done before but I thought I would post an easy lagering or temperature control (heating or cooling really) method.

Bath of ice water (hot water to heat) flows through your immersion chiller (stainless or copper--who cares which) via siphon.

Flow control to reach desired temp... (or use a fish pump and cheapy ebay temp controller for an upgrade and no monitoring)

Drill a couple holes in the bucket lid and couple #2 stoppers for an air-tight seal...

$2 siphon starter--one way bulb pump...

Just make sure the outflow is at least a couple inches below the inflow to ensure the siphon.... add ice or warm water every day or so...

My bet is this would work really well for those on a budget.

Yeah, this is exactly the method James Spencer devised for his 'Basic Brewing' dvd, 'Low Tech Lagering.' Bet it works well.
