I know it depends on the amount of sweeness I'm looking for, but as a ballpark, how much do people normally add to a 5 gallon batch? I just want to lightly sweeten it without going overboard.
Thanks

I'm currently fermenting my first gallon of hard cider. I wanted to know how much splenda to add PER GALLON so I searched the forum and this came up.

2 Threads said 1/2 C per 5 gallon, haven't tried it yet but just putting this up here to save someone else time.

1/2 C per 5 gallon = .5 C / 5 gallon = .1 C/gallon.

.1C = 1.6 Tablespoons per gallon.

I'm going to try this later and I'll post back if I think this is sweet enough after my cider is done.

A question that I did have though - do you boil the splenda in some water to sanitize it before adding?
