I have a large carboy. I got it used, but I think it's 7.5 gallons. I've never had anything come even close to blowing off in this thing. Until tonight.

I made a Dubbel yesterday with WY3655, the VSS Belgian Schelde (LHBS didn't have WY1762 Rochefort). Pitched a swollen smack pack, no starter. This morning it was rolling along. Now it's overwhelmed the airlock! I rigged up a quickie blowoff, but I'm shocked!

Anyway gotta love a vigorous ferment.

I have one too. Best one yet.

I have a 3/8 inch tube poked in the bung on the carboy. The other end is in a wine bottle with water. I can hear the bottle knocking off the floor about 60-70times a minute.:ban:

btw Its a cream ale using Safale US-05. Jamil inspired but i used a partial mash with Canadian 2-row and santiam hops.
