I've heard Amarillo was a good choice, and a friend of mine is making that soon...I'd like to try some different hop and compare! So toss me some suggestions!

I just made a all Citra hopped XPA that is tasting really good. I drank half a pint of warm (but quite carb'd) while racking to secondary. Lots of grapefruit/citrus going on, very little bitterness, great malt backbone. Caveat -- this wasn't a single malt.

All whole leaf 11% AA Citra. I'm going to dry hop an ounce also.

EKG or Fuggles.

English base malt + classic English hop. I am about to break into a MO/Whitbread Golding Varieties SMaSH that I did.

I have a MO/ columbus (oops, had crystal in it...) up right now and it is fantastic... it smells like ruby red grapefruit juice. very nice.

I've done the MO & Amarillo twice, and have been very happy with Smasharillo. Lately I've been using alot of Czech Saaz, and I'm curious how that would be in a Smash.

IMO use EKG, but toast up a pound or two of that grain in the oven first. S04 for the yeast.

I've always been intrigued by MO-amarillo as a combo also, going to have to try that soon.

I made a simcoe smash barleywine (2 row)... next im making a sterling smash imperial pils! After that its an "almost smash" nugget imperial IPA (24lbs 2row, 1lbs 80L)
