So I have a 48 qt cooler that will be converted to a MLT.

It's Dimensions are 19" long by 10 wide by 10 deep.

For my manifold, I'm doing two cross sections.

Using Palmer's methods, I should have my manifold 1 inch or more from the walls.

At 10 inches using 3/8" OD tubing, I'm thinking of it as follows:

10 inches - outside spacing of manifold from walls yields me 8" of workable space.

8 inches - the four sections of 3/8" OD tubing yields 6.5 inches for spacing.

6.5" divided by the three open areas between my cross sections yields 2.16 inches between cross sections.

Make sense? I hope so...

copper...

I was gonna try for SS tubing since we have some kicking around the lab, but it's too expensive to "borrow"

Any comments on slot sizes on the manifold?

Thin. I used a dremal cutting disc. Try angling them slightly so that the slotted length will be longer. Space about every 1/2 to 3/4 inches.
