I have decided the perfect brew is like the perfect golf game. Always tweaking and wishing, more hops, lower temps, more time etc. Is it just me or does it feel like a conquest for the perfect beer is always one game away.

After less than a stellar brew I have never had the urge to throw my equipment into a pond:mug:

I think if i dumped a batch, i wouldn't throw equipment but rather invest in new equipment after some choice words. Just like my golfing friends. There is always the new miracle Driver, Putter, Video........of course I have a high beer tolerance. I always think the next one is going to be better. :p

Also like golf if you go into it without high expectations, you might actually enjoy the fresh air, birds singing and every once in a while make an amazing shot (beer)

I once found a very badly bent 9 iron in a tree while golfing. Still haven't found a mash tun though.

I think it could be like golf that way for a lot of people, however, a golf score is generally a binary item. It's either a stroke or not. And you count them.

With beer, it's a very subjective thing. What could be a badly flawed beer to some people might be liquid gold for another. I think at a certain point most people will be very satisfied with their beer, but then there are lots of styles to "perfect", so doing all of them great justice may take a while.

God If I could golf as well as I brew I wouldn't be doing my job for a living haha. Damn you handicap
