Just a a nice oak barrel from my wife. It is charred. Any suggestions on beer and storage and care? Reall interested in doing this up right.
 
clean with barrel cleaner and fill with sanitizer till you use it.
dry barrels tend to infect and dry out causing leaks when u go to fill it

Is it used? if not be prepared for INTENSE oak character.
most of homebrewers desire for used barrels comes from whatever spirit's aroma and palate was in the barrel beforehand.
