couldn't think of a good topic title for this...but here goes

so, i dabbled in my first AG this week (PM i guess because i added .5 lb. of DME). thing is, i'm limited to 2.5-3gal batches until i find a cheap/good turkey fryer and brew kettle.

used a recipe i found on the site (american wheat) and used:

2 lbs. wheat
2 lbs. pale 2-row
.5 lbs. munich
6 oz. flaked wheat
and a handful of rice hulls
i'd have to check the recipe for my hops but remember:
1 oz. 3.0A for 60 minutes
.5 oz 5.1A for 15
.5 oz 5.1Z for 0

missed the OG by about 5 thousandths of a point (1042 instead of 1047)...

yada yada

i want to make a full 5 gallons of this batch because i don't want what could be a great beer to be gone in a matter of days

so i was planning on doing another 2.5gal batch the same day i'll move the original batch to secondary and just toss the new wort on the old yeast.

was just wondering if i would need to wash the yeast if i'm just going to toss on another identical beer

nope - just toss it on top and let er rip! I often pour a new batch on an existing yeast cake even when its not the same beer (as long as its not an extreme difference)
