I have a pound of wheat malt that is probably about 2 months old in a ziploc bag. I've kept it in the basement where there is minimal humidity. I tasted it and it doesn't seem damp or moldy. Is it OK to use for brewing? Not sure how long I can store malt in ziploc bags but I would think a couple months would be OK.

If it is not crushed it can be stored for much longer than a few months, likely years.

If it is crushed it will have a much shorter shelf life but you will probably be ok still at this point. Taste some before you brew with it.

For future referance, keep milled grain in a freezer in air tight container and it will maintain the longest, how long is kind of a mater of taste. Once I went a couple months on a chocolate wheat without any problem. Unmilled will go easy a year in cool air tight container. I am doing an experiment now and am using some pale base that is turning two years old. Not finding any flavor change so far.
