Just wondering what to look for (or not to worry about) during 2nd fermentation.
I put mine into the second carboy the other day and it appears nothing at all is happening, no foam, no bubbles just plain ol' brown liquid.

We good?

haha
cheers

Secondary fermentation is a misnomer. All fermentation should be done in the primary fermenter. The "secondary fermenter" is where bulk aging and clearing occurs

it doesn't really do too much. it may bubble a little once in a while. and you'll see a little more gunk collecting on the bottom. the beer will clear a bit more. that's about it

All good! Secondary fermentation occurs if you introduce more food for the yeast after a fermentation has already completed. I think that a lot of the time when people say "secondary fermenter," they really mean something like "secondary vessel."
