I have a used beer keg ( legally acquired - or as legal as buying off Craigslist is).

I'm looking to get a Weldless Thermometer kit.

There are 2", 4", 6" stems.

How long is long enough to get accurate temps but not interfere / get in the way of a Immersion Wort Chiller?

Any thoughts from guy who are already using this type of setup?

Shorter the better (and cheaper). Accuracy is no problem with a stubby, but be aware I got false readings by the heat from the burnercoming up the sides of the keg which was a problem in my mash tun. I cut up a small coffee can as a deflector and works very well. If you do run into clearance issues with the thermometer and chiller, "screw" it in.

The 2" stem will read fine if you are going to recirculate or stir your wort as you chill it.

Thanks for the quick response

I actual just bought a weldless bulkhead and dip tube from you. Thanks for the extremely fast shipping. I will recommend you to everyone.
