I used some bar keepers friend on the inside of my kettle to clean it up. Do I need to do anything to make the surface ready to use (aside from just rinsing with a lot of water), or can I just boil in it now? Clean with PBW?

Rinse it good but I would also wipe it down with a dry towel. I have noticed that BKF leaves a film behind that you can't see until you wipe it down.

I prefer PBW for cleaning and I use BKF for removing stains and water spots.

Thanks for the help. I'm also doing a boiling water rinse (first time with a new-to-me kettle, so BKF to get rid of stains, then a boil to get a feel for boil off rate). First batch tomorrow morning hopefully
