help with a starter

I made a starter with some yeast i harvested out of some bottles. everything went well till i looked at it today. guess what, there is a very definite mold infection floating on top of the beer. the yeast on the bottom looks ok. my initial idea is to pour off the moldy layer. unfortunately when i pour the starter the mold slides to the back/bottom of the jug and not out the top. there is no way i'm going to be able to get a spoon in there and scoop out the mold. the neck of the bottle is to small. is there anyway i can save this starter?
