Same Recipe but lose the black Patent and bump up the mash temp. I am drinking the porter now and will probably mash @ 152º next time for just a bit more sweetness, but this is a DAMN FINE PORTER. As good as any commercial American Porters I've tried, Reminds me of Ballast Point Black Marlin Porter, but I know they use Cascade. TASTY.
The Brown when mashed @ 153º gives a massive malty-chocolate flavor on the palate, but not overwhelming as my brother in law does not care much for browns and really enjoyed this. I love the chocolate and munich combo, just MONEY!
The Pacman is the real treat here, does not mask malty flavors as I thought it might. Hops shine here as well, just as they should. This is the new house strain for me. Browns, Porters, AB Clone, IPAs. All Great!
Hope you brew one,
Zippy. Cheers!
