Who has use maple syrup in the brewing process? Should you do it during the boil, after the boil in the primary or secondary? Making a 5 gallon batch so how much would you use. I don't want it to be over powering!

Well first you would have to use the real deal stuff. No Log Cabin. It's not to be snobby it's that they're different types of sugar.

Second, I have never heard of maple syrup being sterile, like honey, so it would need to be boiled. I would treat it like LME in the extract + steeping grains process. Warm it up and add it around T - 20.

As for quantity. Start small and grow it out. Try 8oz and see what happens. I don't know if anyone would be able to tell you how much you prefer.

Sure real deal is what if use. Adding to boil makes sense when you put it that way! Any others advice?
