I am ready to purchase my first extract kit, my first step into home brewing!

I like Sam Adams Boston Lager, Pale Ales and IPAs, as well as Oktoberfest and Christmas Ales.

What kit (or type of kit) should I get?

Stay away from Oktoberfest and lagers unless you have the patience to let them sit around for 3-4 months. Tough to do for your first kit. You also need an area where you can let it ferment between 48-54 degrees and another area where it can lager at 34-38 degrees. Look online at Austin Homebrew or Northern Brewer and find an ale you think you would enjoy. They're all about the same level of difficulty
