Making a starter with LME?

Did a quick search last night but couldn't find anything on the subject. All the instructions I find involve DME.

Anyway, after searching, I finally broke down and made my starter with LME. Had a SG of 1.058. Ending up using just a little over 1/2 cup to 3 cups water.

Other than being very messy and the sanitization issue, any other reason to NOT use LME??
 
I used to do starters with LME because I bought it in bulk. I used 5-6 oz of LME and about 2 pints of water for a 1L starter.
